John Swanton had land at Laragh, Kinalmeaky, 315 acres at 195 pounds per annum. Lease from 1830.

James Swanton was a tenant at East Gully.

According to the schedule of leases there was a John Clarke Swanton, (succeeded by Mrs Swanton (presumably his widow) of South Main Street (liable to the payment of Street Money in 1816, a local tax no doubt) & Bridewell Quay (two plots of 2 & 7 acres, leased in 1826 for 3 lives, Princess Charlotte, Samuel H. Swanton & John Clarke Swanton). He commenced leasing the house in Main St (19 feet in breadth by 89 feet in depth; having free use of the passage to the Bridewell river) in 1816 for three lives (all members of the royal family), or 99 years.

A Jonathan Clarke, Esq., had a house on North Main Street from 1816. He also had lands at Mawmore in Kinalmeaky barony. Francis Clarke had a house on South Main ;, this house leased by Jonathan Clarke.

Mrs Swanton was a tenant on Main St in a house originally leased by Jonathan Clarke. She also had a house on Bridewell Lane , leased by John Burchill. Mrs Swanton was still alive in 1855. John Clarke Swanton was dead by then, I think. A John O’Brien is renting the house on South Main .

There was an Ann Swanton in North Muff a little later, in the 1830s.
