3. Timothy George died in 1896 at age 53. He was a sailor, a swimmer, and a lifesaver. He was crew on a ship which, when it landed in Cape Town, South Africa, he absconded and worked his way up through the country, working as a mason. He took the false name of Murphy. He eventually came to a little village in the Transvaal Amersfoort. He met his wife there and took back his real name of Swanton. She was Petronella Van Der Merwe and was born October 16, 1855 and died on June 25, 1919.
